Teacher: Jasmine Hoole
Hey! I’m Jasmine, a fourth year Hispanic Studies and French student and I can't wait to teach Beginner Jazz this year! I started taking dance classes in ballet, tap and modern/jazz at the age of 3, completing exams (BATD) and performing in shows right up until I left for uni. I have loved every moment of being part of CMD, after being on the exec as social sec in 2nd year, I can't wait to get teaching this year! CMD has really made my experience at uni and is such an easy club to get involved in, offering so many dancing and social opportunities. I wouldn't have half as many friends if I hadn't got involved! Jazz is such a fun style of dance, and after competing for 2 years with CMD’s Intermediate Jazz team, I honestly can't wait to get started with classes! Jazz dance consists of diverse and exciting choreography, and my class in particular will be focused on building a strong foundation and technique, which we will then apply to choreography for our showcases! In a friendly environment, I hope to work on a new theme each week such as: strength, flexibility and confidence to gradually improve on and gain new skills. This class is open to those who have never danced before, or just want to try something new and different! I hope to see lots of you soon for some Jazz with Jaz (cringe but I had to...) and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all, I can't wait to meet you all!
Teacher: Dan Jhoolun
Hey guys! I’m Dan, a third year Psychology student and your intermediate jazz dance teacher for this year. I have been dancing since the age of 11, in multiple styles but I have always found that I have most enjoyed jazz! Last year I was part of the intermediate jazz competition team and I also taught Commercial dance. My classes will focus on improving skills and developing technique as well as working on performance. I hope to create a fun and exciting atmosphere. I would encourage you to give it a shot! CMD is an amazing club in that we welcome anyone and everyone equally, regardless of skill or experience. See you next year guys!
Teacher: Lottie Collini
Hey guys! I'm Lottie, a second year Chemistry student. I’ve been dancing since I was three in a variety of dance styles including ballet, jazz and contemporary. I have danced with the English Youth Ballet and The Urdang Academy in summer schools and I took part in classes with my own dance school for up to 10 hours a week. I have completed RAD Advanced Foundation Ballet and ISTD Jazz Award Gold Modern Theatre. Last year I was part of the Advanced Jazz and Ballet competition teams and really enjoyed that. Teaching All Levels Jazz last year has made me SUPER excited to be teaching Advanced Jazz this term. CMD is such a welcoming club and it really makes you feel involved with the university whilst having so much fun. My class will focus on building stamina with tricky choreography. I look forward to seeing everyone in September.
