Hey!! I’m Jess. I am a second year law student and am beyond excited to be your beginners ballet teacher this year! I have been dancing since the age of three and have completed grades up to Advance 2 in BTDA and Intermediate in Cecchetti. I have successfully trained as associates with the Royal Ballet School, Tring Park, Cecchetti Classical Ballet and the Cambridge Youth Ballet, performing in various productions. My class will focus on learning the ballet technique, feeling comfortable and confident in doing so, whilst building strength and flexibility. The class will start with a warm up and a stretch, followed by barrè and centre exercises. These exercises will create a good understanding of the ballet terminology and improve technique. Also, in each class we will spend time on choreography for a dance!
I am looking forward to creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, for all, that allows you to escape through the medium of dance and make new friends! I cannot wait to dance with you so come along!!

Hi I’m Izzy, I’m a second year Linguistics with French student and I can’t wait to start teaching intermediate ballet this year! I started dancing at the age of 3, completing exams to intermediate level in RAD ballet and ISTD modern and tap. I was thrilled to be able to continue dancing at uni with CMD, not only to attend classes but also for how welcomed and settled it made me feel. Last year, I got to be part of the intermediate ballet and jazz competition teams which was extremely fun and rewarding! I hope that in my class I will be able to create the same welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere that I experienced last year while stretching you to your full capabilities. I aim to do this through highlighting the importance of technique through exercises then applying them to my choreography for the termly showcase! Whether you’ve danced all your life or you haven’t danced in years, I really recommend that you try out my class and all that CMD has to offer. I look forward to seeing you soon!

I’m Poppy a 2nd year English Literature student and I’m so excited to be teaching Advanced Ballet this year. I began dancing when I was 2 years old and have trained up to Advanced 1 in both RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern and Tap as well as a vocational level in Contemporary. I have taken part in many festivals and workshops and have also worked with West End choreographer, Andrew Wright, on numerous occasions. I love the classical side of ballet and how amazing it is as a basis for all other styles of dance. My class will be targeted towards experienced dancers who are confident in their technique and we will cover all aspects of ballet from classical technique to contemporary ballet in a relaxed and friendly environment, focusing on building strength and improving performance through a mixture of exercises and choreography. Joining CMD was the highlight of my 1st year so I highly recommend joining as many classes as possible whether you are an experienced dancer or have never danced before. I can’t wait to see you in class or at socials!
